National Tainan First Senior High Hello everyone, I am Kai-Hung, and I will be your chair in ECOSOC in Tainan MUN VI. For those who are having their first MUN, I want to say, “Don’t worry.” Deciding to attend your first MUN conference is already a great progress on your road to a super-MUNer!!! Perhaps you will get intimidated by the people you will meet at the conference, since maybe some of them are eloquent, even bombastic, speaking so fluently that it’s hard to catch up what they just said. Yet, don’t be afraid. MUN is not only about speaking fluent English; conversely, to ace the MUN, you will have to have a clear and insightful thought. Personally I was actually frightened and nervous in my first MUN because I was not so eloquent at that time and was totally frightened by the fluency of those who had gone to MUN for tens of times. During my later MUNs, however, I realized that developing a firm and concise argument is what people in MUN should do, for it manifests your ability to think deeply into a problem. Nevertheless, people often ignore it. Hence, for my dear participants, no matter how experienced you are, let’s have an insightful and intriguing conference.

Co-ChairMaggie Chen (11)
International Bilingual School at Tainan Science Park Hi everyone! My name is Maggie Chen, a junior from International Bilingual School at Tainan Science Park (IBST), and I am humbled and honored to serve as your Chair for the Economic and Social Council! Ever since I embarked on my Model United Nations journey in 8th grade, these convivial conferences grew from a small extracurricular event that allowed me to make new friends into a pathway of understanding more about the current issues in the world and what can be done to make an impact. Throughout my MUN career, I’ve attended a myriad of conferences as a delegate, press editor, and chair. TainanMUN 2016 marks my 13th conference, and I will do my best to live up to your expectations! Aside from MUN, I love to shop, read contemporary novels, catch up on sleep and TV shows, and fantasize about owning a real, life-sized Baymax. My friends consider me as a cheerful, optimistic, and sociable person, so please don’t feel afraid to approach me with any questions or just to chat. See you all in January!
